Default 2nd gen GS3 intake?

I bought a cheap intake on ebay for my 99 GS300. As soon as I put it on, my engine check light came on. I plugged my laptop into the car and it tells me that the car is running lean. I've seen so many of you guys out there with an intake on your GS300, how do you guys by-pass that? do I need a reprogrammed ECU just to run an intake in my car? if so, who makes them and how much do they run?

I have an Injen intake with no CEL. Did you reset your ECU? Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes if you already havent tried that. There only like $250 for the intake. Didnt do anything but make my engine louder though. Same for my exhaust. I might have added like 5 rwp with the combo of intake and exhaust. Thats why im collecting cans to save up for a turbo LOL

If you are running lean you might want to get an SAFC to tune it out. Also you may want to clean off your MAF Sensor as well, it might have gotten dirty when you installed your intake.

I've tried installing the intake, then resetting the ECU ( unplug the battery for 10 mins, then plug it back in). It doesn't take long for the air mass sensor to detect the intake and pop the engine code on.

I guess no one else out there have this problem? I know the new celicas has the same problem too and alot of them can't install an intake in their car due to that.
