Hi,
In looking at my intake system, Akimoto Hi Flow, I noticed just how hot the intake tube is getting and I understand that if we could drop the temp inside there, that for every ten degrees in air temp going there we would gain 1-1.5% in HP. Anyone deal with this before?
Thanks,
Tim
Yelp,
Just an idea, my business is developing new products for major corps here in the US. I have developed and co-develop in the automotive industry. The air coming in is hot, needs a little cooling off. In the past I have made my own water injection system that worked quite well for an old Mercedes of mine. I will keep thinking about it and do some research on just how cool you can and want to go. Cold water injection might help a little.
Anyway just a thought.
It's a quite simple fix, really. You get the tube ceramic coated. Makes a big difference, and comes out all polished. These are the guys who do my stuff: http://www.fireballcoatings.com/
Originally posted by bitkahuna Just a thought, what if the tube were wrapped in some foil like stuff? Would that reflect heat, or just conduct heat and make the tube even hotter?
