Default Amsoil ATF now Toyota certified

Originally posted by Goldfinger911 (at supraforums)

Anyone every use Amsoil ATF in the MkIV TT Auto tranny? I notice the Toyota manual says to use "Type T(iv) or equivalent"

I also notice that now on Amsoil's website, they have a press release that says that their ATF is now Toyota Type-T(1-4) and Honda Z1 certified and will not void Toyota warranties, blah blah.

I see a lot of people using Amsoil crankcase oil and gear lube but no one using the ATF. I was just curious. Any other brand I wouldn't look twice at, but Amsoil has such a good rep I thought I would ask.

See the 06/03 update: Here

Thanks in advance.

I have been using Amsoil products for the past year and have been waiting for this news. Funny how my rep didn't really mention it. I will ask him about it today. Looks like my ATF change will be sooner than expected. Thanks for the info.

I will rest a little easier knowing that I can get prolonged performance from my ATF. I do have the PPI TC and a tranny cooler. Adding this is like icing on the cake.

I'll keep you all informed with the long term effects.

Aloha

How do you know this is good for your car? Just cause they told you? If anyone in here find a test result for the ATF let me know.
