The only questionable part on the VVTi engines is the weaker connecting rods. It is my understanding that they become an issue at roughly 550 HP.
Very professional and honest, I dont think anyone wants to be "sold the Brooklyn Bridge" per se! Feedback is appreciated and the system looks nice, too bad is not avail as a kit!

I just do not see it being possible to make a kit for this car for the average do it your-selfer. Sure I can make the header, DP, IC pipes, intercooler etc. Unfortunately this is the easy part. To do the job right you must pull the motor, pull off the head and oil pan. Put on the thick HG, Drill and tap the oil pan for oil return (DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE OIL PAN ON THE CAR!!!). You need to run a return line for fuel and modifly the fuel pump pickup for a different pump. You need to modify the fuel rail for larger injectors and machine it for a return line and regulator. While the engine is out you can do the valve body mods to the tranny. You then need to weld on bungs for the sensors for the engine management. Then you need to wire the engine management BUT you need to trick the factory computer into thinking it is still running the engine. That requires adapters, OP AMPs, 02 simulators etc....
Otherwise you lose everything the factory computer runs such as the throttle control, traction control, a/c control, cruise control etc.

Maybe some of you guys out there can do this but I bet it is a very small percentage. If anyone wants to try Id be glad to help but I feel the complexity of this install is why most tuners only do these cars as an inhouse installation only.

That doesn't sound like something I would be able to do in my spare time.
Considdering the wprk involved the price really isn't bad.

Larry, any chance of setting up a European Sound Performance soon?

Richie I swear your saga continues to amaze me. I feel like we, the ClubLexus Community, should chip in $50 a head to cover shipping of Richies GS to the tuner of his choice in the US and back. I don't think we'll need too many contributors (how much can shipping a car by boat be?) and we, the ClubLexus community, could feel great about having a kick-a** GS that *we* helped create running around out there. I know I'd like to know that another FI GS is out there handing out a butt-kicking.

You really deserve it Richie!

What do you all think? I've got my wallet ready.

Thanks for the offer Mr Johnson, I'm flattered by it but I think it would be pretty damn expensive to ship my car over to the US and back again.
However, the Richie fund sounds like a great idea .

Default RE: Just saw this car today....

Wow, I just saw this car today, here down south in Montgomery, AL!!! I was leaving a hotel and noticed something different about it so I asked about the car.... It was a '98 gold GS300 and he stated the work was done at Sound Performance. I looked under the hood and it matches the picture. If Rod Pranta was the original owner, the guy I talked to must have been the next owner b/c his name was not Rod Pranta. It was sitting on 18" SSR GT3's and looked like a stock GS300 unless you noticed the intercooler. Does anyone have any knowledge of the owner history of this car. The guy I spoke with was stated he is about to sell it... I'm so happy to see some modifications like this down south!
