I have a 2015 Lexus IS350C. I also have young kids at home so not much time these days to work in my garage. I only really have time for 1-2 track days per year. At this point my experience level on track cannot churn out more speed than a 1:30 lap time at my local track. I know more experience will help most, as would perhaps a different car, but that's not in the cards for a while.
Last year, I used EBC Blue Stuff Track Day pads up front and those were great. I plan to run those again, paired with Yellow stuff in the rear.
I haven't made the upgrade to racing wheels/tires (also due to cost) and I know some better tires would help as well. I usually just run Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3/4's which just prematurely wears them out, but until I can afford more track time this will probably not change either.
My main question is whether the RR Racing OBD ECU tune will fix my main complaint with the car at the moment, which is acceleration lag out of turns.
I can do everything right on track but if I don't nail the throttle input, it lags and costs me 1-2 seconds of delay. Multiply that by 10 turns and it's really annoying.
From my research on RR Racing and YouTube, it seems easy enough to install. I'm assuming that ECU flashing voids some part of the warranty but the dealer could flash it back if I brick the ECU (for several hundred dollars I assume).
Anyone with specific experience with the RR mod, please let me know what you think.
