SC400 stalling / bad power steering pump
hi! i have a 1993 SC400, i’ve been having a few issues with it. my car is stalling sometimes. and i’ve noticed it only stalls as when i’m at a stop whenever i steer the wheel to the left or right, i’ve done a little bit of research and some people said it could be a bad power steering IACV. so i’ve replaced that. and i still have the same issues. nothing has fixed. also my power steering pump has gone bad and i haven’t replaced it just yet. but i’m not sure if that will cause my car to stall out?? hopefully someone has some answers cuz this is a huge headache for me and i can’t figure it out
There may be a variety of things you may need to look at. It appears every situation is different... I've ran through a variety of troubleshooting techniques, until I found my culprit. Some of the commom recurrences are ECU needs to be rebuilt, and the fuel ecu by pass, may help. Try the cheapest first which is the fuel ECU bypass. Tune up would be my second option. ECU rebuild would be my 3rd.
There is a vacuum switch on the passenger side of the motor that opens when you turn to idle the engine up when the power steering is under load a/c pump kicks on ect. you could check it, its connected above the iac into the intake centered just back trace
