Cannot find source of Misfire
I have a 1992 with Aristo ECU and a single turbo NA-T. Cylinder 3 will not fire. i have checked all I know to check so if anyone knows what else can be wrong, would you please post it.
Here's a list of what I have done. Swapped injectors 1 and 3, misfire stayed on 3. Swapped plugs 3 and 4, stayed. Put the 3-4 coil on 3 with the lead running to 4, stayed. Put a noid light on 3, getting good flash. put injector 3 connector on injector 4, cylinder 4 runs with this. continuity check injector connector to ecu and other injector connectors. good. pulled vacuum hose off fuel pressure regulator, nothing. jumped fuel pump with 12 volts in diagnostic connector, nothing. verified timing. valve clearance good. Compression 180 psi. leakdown test was great 100%. Thank you for any help. |
When i jump the injector with 12 volts from battery the cylinder fires off. leads me to ecu problems, then why does the noid light flash?

Noid light only shows a pulse doesn't tell you current. Scan tool setup that will graph current is a fairly expensive bit of hardware.

could i use a mulitmeter on dc amperage with the hold max setting?

i tried the screw driver but just cant tell a real difference between a known cylinder working plugged vs unplugged, i appreciate it though

this to me still does not explain why when i attach injector 3 clip to cylinder 4 injector, cylinder 4 runs. the exhaust has unburnt fuel in the turbo manifold.
