Default A650E slow change up to top gear when cold

Hi
My A650E box in my IS300 is working very well (120K's) however on cold mornings the last shift up to top gear does not occur for about one kilometre. Once it has changed up box operates normally for rest of day.

This is not a summer problem only when mornings get colder. Is this a common problem. As I said the box is silky smooth once warm.

Cheers

Ric

Interesting that you mention that. This is the same case with me, the gearbox won't shift to second until the RPM reaches 3000. This is only in cold temperatures. Transmission works fine for the rest of the day. Could be something the transmission electronically does because of the temperature or just the fact the fluid hasn't reached optimal temperature to give enough pressure (maybe).

Mine does that when cold, holding the 1-2 shift longer. I'll have to pay attention to whether it is shifting at 3000 RPM.

I remembered to pay attention to it today, and it held the 1-2 shift until 2400 RPM when cold (48 degrees out).

Curious now, what is the idle for y'all (1UZ VVT-i) in drive when warmed up? I'm getting around 400 to 500 RPM.
