About a week ago I noticed a sound coming from my engine.
Its now gotten a lot worse.
It feels like a piece of metal is vibrating, as if something is loose, but I looked around all day and haven't been able to find anything.
Im not sure if the noise is coming from deep inside, or from something outside the actual engine.
The sound is heard mostly when the car is cold, and when it is standing, but after driving for a few minutes it seems to go away.
I've searched forums, but haven't been able to identify this problem yet.
Also, when I accelerate my engine gets loud after 2800 rpm, a buzzing/humming sound. And when I let go of the gas after cruising at 75 or higher , I can hear it again.
A couple weeks ago, my starter contacts went out and I replaced those, I removed the starter and put it back, maybe that has something to do with it?

Sounds like valve train but an automotive stethoscope can help pinpoint the location.

 

Sound got worse and worse. Got it checked out at the shop today and was told it's the Torque Converter. Hopefully will get that replaced soon, and I'll let you guys know if it fixes the problem.

 

How many miles on the Transmission?

 

It currently has 161,000.
