Default DSPORT magazine dynos XERD header on SC300

While cleaning out some of my old magazine collection I came across DSPORT issue #23, November 2004.

Decided to upload this for the ages.

SC300 TEST & TUNE PART II
Hitting 200WHP in a boostless 2JZ-GE

Summary of part I (issue #21 September 2004)

Baseline dyno run - 173.1 whp

Injen Short Ram intake
APEXi Hybrid Megaphone exhaust system
APEXi SGS grounding system

Final dyno run - 187.8 whp
(increase of 8.5 %)

PART II

Test 1. XERD header
(this header exists today as the MVP header and the OBX 1pc header)

Part II baseline dyno run - 186.1 whp

Xerd header installed along with an in-house created front pipe (2nd cat delete pipe)

"above 4500rpm the XERD header showed its prowess by delivering a peak gain of 7.2 wheel horsepower over the factory exhaust manifold. However, the true potential of the XERD header was not realized until the fuel curve was optimized with the APEXi SAFC-II"

XERD header and test pipe dyno run - 193.3 whp

APEXi SAFC-II install and dyno tuning

"By dialing in the SAFC-II to a -8% setting on the high load from 1600rpm to 7600rpm, we realized an additional 7.1 peak horsepower while improving power output across the curve."

Tuned SAFC-II dyno run - 200.4 whp
