Default VVTI NA Throttle issue

I've been searching for 20 mins and couldnt find the maintenance thread but i know its around.

My 98, the throttle will sometimes be fine and while driving the check engine light will come one and id have to push the pedal all the way to the ground to get any type of acceleration. Can someone give me some info or remember the name of the thread that had the part number for the fix.

I would suspect the accelerator pedal position sensor or the valve control motor (iacv for vvti which is on the TB) before the TPS.

A lot of people had mis diagnosed that TPS (which actually seldom breaks though it does) when the real problem is either of the two above.

can either one of those be purchased thru the dealer. i've seen the whole TB going for some ridiculous prices and i've been to 4 junk yard and no joy.

yes but can be pricey from the dealer .. best bet is search for a whole used TB which have all the three parts (APPS, TPS , ;Throttle Control Motor ) so you can have spare of the others.
