R154 tune up/maintenance question
#16
Here is the inside of mine...with all brand new gears, HD bearing, synchros, etc....you can still see the paint marking on the gears...
It is fully built......i.e the most you can do to an r154.....it should hold 700hp....
You can see the Marlin Crawler billet shifter fork for 1-2.....
Over the winter I may add the 3-4 billet fork from Driftmotion

However, in my case I scheduled with them WELL in advance and it was at a time when they had no big vehicle events to attend. They had other customer cars in their shop but they were not swamped. And they also knew I was going to be staying in town during the rebuild and wanted them to swap the transmission for me. I think this contributed to the short window of total time everything took. I'd asked them when a good time for them was to do it that way and they gave me an appointment that worked in between their bigger customer jobs. I think I waited 1-2 months after my initial call to them and at the time my schedule was flexible enough for it.
With Driftmotion the only rebuild work I've had them do was my TT Auto LSD pumpkin rebuild and ratio change. In this case I also drove my two pumpkins to them (I was in CA at this time) and either they worked on it there or they sent it out to a driveline shop they partner with. I don't recall the exact amount of time I was waiting on it but it could have been 2-3 weeks. That was either 2011 or 2012. I have been very happy with their work.
Have you given Aaron a courtesy call if it's been that long? And did he suggest a timeframe for you to expect them to be finished?
