Default Noise/vibration from center console area, need some advice

Hey guys! Picked up my 93 SC400 Saturday from its second owner, 148k and well maintained, but noticed a weird noise/vibration on my way home. Upon acceleration, you can feel some vibration through the whole car, nothing crazy, but deferentially not normal. Once at cruising speed the vibration disappears, but on decel there is a whirling/grinding noise that comes from the center console area along with more vibration.

I put the car on a lift today and took a peek under neath to find everything in great shape, trans mount, motor mounts, etc, other than a sagging carrier bearing. The bearing is not ripped, just looks a bit dry rotted and does not look as if it is supporting the center of the drive shaft very well. The car shifts buttery smooth and has had its transmission fluid flushed in the last 1k miles.

Could the carrier be my issue? I am going to buy one regardless, but I would love to hear others input on the issue before I go buying parts I do not need. Thanks!!

The transmission mount looked to be near new, but I'm guessing a low quality aftermarket part could cause issues that a bad mount would. I ordered both a carrier and a transmission mound, hopefully one or the other will resolve the issue.

They can "look" just fine but it throws off the drive shaft angle off and creates the exact thing you describe also carrier bearings rarely go bad in this chassis.

Try to change the mount first before you go any further changing parts.

and after changing the mount, replace the carrier bearing. If it sags, it goes.
