JZX100 auto ecu gear inputs
Hey Guys,
this is probably a longshot, but I am hoping to find someone who has done this / knows the ECU a bit better than me.
I am having idling issues after driving with my 1jz vvti swap (JZX100) with the auto ecu and one of the diagrams i found has the pinout for the auto ECU. I have read that shorting the auto ECU to think it is in 2nd gear is the trick to fixing the idling issues after driving the car around a bit (always good idle from a fresh crank).
Basically my question is, does anyone know if the 2nd gear input pin is a sinking or sourcing input? Does the pin (#G connector pin '2') need to be grounded or does it need to have 12V hooked into it to have the ECU think it is in 2nd gear?
thanks
Marko

My 1JZ GTE JZZ30 outputs battery voltage on the ECU pins for tranny solenoids. The other end of the solenoid is grounded at the tranny. Don't forget though, that it is a 12v OUTPUT, not input (obviously). So, I don't see how you can trick the ecu into thinking that it is in 2nd gear. The ECU commands it to be in second gear. I am assuming your VVTI is same
