Thanks..will definitely try to get someone to do it this week hopefully rebuild the ecu...any suggestions on a place? Price? Time? And when they repair the ecu what kind of work do they do? Do they jus replace the capacitor?

I had mine done locally by a circuit board guy, but there are several national places that do full ECU servicing and are well regarded. Some offer same day turnaround, so you're just looking at mailing time to wait for it back.
My guy only replaced capacitors, as he doesn't have any diagnostic equipment or training to bench test its functionality. Well, that was the initial plan... He ended up doing an amazingly intricate job of repairing corroded traces and input pins once the damage was found. I had asked the national services if they could repair that degree of damage (before my guy informed me he had had a change of heart and forged ahead with it), and half told me it was beyond repair. Only one could give me a more reassuring answer than "maybe."
Combine that aspect with the rather murky nature of what all they do in servicing ECUs, and I suspect it's mostly just capacitor replacement. Any actual repair work probably goes above and beyond what they can do in the allotted time for ~$150, and capacitors are the only thing I've heard of going wrong in these ECUs, anyway.
