Ignition switch ques.
Am working to pull my ignition switch off the rear of the key switch, and there is a black box attached to the side of the key switch housing that has 2 wires that join in to the main switch plug in, that are not pictured in the repl. switch part image. Im guessing this has to do with theft deterrent, and could this small black box be intermtently cutting 12v. to the fuel pump as theft deterrant? Looking again at the new product pic. the two holes are empty in the main plug, as if you reuse the old 2 blue wires?

If OLT or anyone could do a brief tutorial on our key switch assembly and its 5 main parts it would be greatly appreciated. The housing, tumbler set, ignition switch at the bottom end, and the small square black box on the side of housing, and small pressure switch near key end.

This is a 1'' x1'' square black plastic box attached to the key switch housing with 2 wires that go down to the main plug you unplug when changing out the ignition switch.

So by looking at a wiring sckematic the small square box on the side of the key switch is called a key interlock sol. which is conn. to the shift lock ecu. The prob. is that when your replacing the ignition switch, these 2 wires from the sol. have to be removed from the old male plug to the new plug. I have a MAC brand kit to release these kind of wires but am not having any luck with these 2 small pins.
