It looks like if you removed the 2 bolts in the center it would come out.

That's what I figured, too, but I think the bolts are merely holding the diff to the mount/spacer/bushing, and the latter is pressed into the subframe.

I'd really like to eliminate the clunk when going into reverse. I'm going to replace every bushing on my car eventually. Just not sure which ones to start with.

Well, if any of my replacement bushings get rid of my Reverse clunk, I'll let you know. Has anyone ever asked/answered the question as to whether these cars were like that when new? I'm guessing they weren't, but it could be something inherent in the design.

I ended up ordering the transmission mount from Sewell. It's a bit startling the first time you see one in person. From the pics, I was expecting something close to a loaf of bread in size. The actual thing fits in the palm of your hand.

I should have installed it the day it arrived ... now it's raining for the foreseeable future and won't be nearly as much fun to work under the car.
