Default tps 1995 sc400

Okay. My problem still here. Cleaned my iacv and my idle and acceleration by itself problem still there. So the tps sensor is right next to the intake manifold right. 2 of em? Found a 1994 ls400 parting out car. They seem to have 1? Would it be useful? Also since my iacv isn't like the 92-93 I couldn't take it apart so gna replace it. I should be able to use the one on the ls400 right? Sorry for all these questions just tryna fix problem asap. Thanks.

Check the part # to see if they're a match. The same TPS was used on a lot of Toyotas.

If you have two of them, the one closest to the air intake tube will be for TRAC.

I still think the accelerator cable(s) is much more likely to be the cause of your problem... The ECU could be to blame, as well.

thanks alot. You've been very helpful! Also if id reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery and the problem was still there would that rule out the ecu. Or is there more to it. I'll check the cable. Thanks again.

It's recommended to reset the ECU any time making changes so it re-learns quicker with the new conditions. It couldn't hurt to do that, but I doubt it will accomplish anything. What I meant is the infamous bad capacitor issue and the array of odd little problems attributed to that. For example, I was close to replacing my knock sensors (big $$$) and it turned out to be capacitor leakage in the ECU had fried those input terminals.

Are you sure about that. I have a 93 sc400 and my TPS is closest to the air intake tube.

I can't swear to it, as I don't have traction control, so you may be right. I thought I've seen them the other way around.

Any update on performance since you cut the box off the bottom of the air intake tube.

That was oldManTan, not me. I asked my mechanic about it last week and he agreed with my guess that it serves the purpose of having a surplus of filtered air on hand when the throttle plate is opened rapidly, since it can probably suck in more air than the filter can flow, so I left the box alone.
