How in the world am I supposed to get to the bolt that is on the left of the lock cylinder?

Ps I got the bolt out, but can't even come close to getting my hands in there to get the thread started. Is there a proper way to get to it?

take the bottom philips head screw out on the rail, and then you have some wiggle room in the rail to get the bolt started with an extension/socket.
