Default Gas Mileage is nuts

The only mod my sc300 from 1996 has is 18x7.5 DVS WRATH wheels. i didn't choose these, they came with the car when i bought it and have no chagned them yet (i know they are ugly). I get 300 miles per tank at the MOST, and that's if 85% of my driving is highway. I thought that was about right, but everyone i see posting seems to get a lot more. All tune ups are done regularly of course. the only thing i can think of is that these rims may be heavy and are killing my mileage. i could not find the weight of these anywhere however. any ideas or info would be great.
