Question 1993 SC400 Turns over a few times and fails... then starts 4th or 5th try

Title sort of says it all.

This is a new development, (riding RIGHT on the heels of a stalling at intersections and idle problem) and I've done nothing new to the car in ages.

167k miles, with brand new distributors/caps, wires & plugs around.... 3000 miles ago?

But yeah - get in it, turn the key, wrrrwrrrwrrrrwrrrrwrrrrr.. nothing. try that again a few times, nothing. Then try one last time (normally 4th or so try), turn key, vroom! fires right up. From there it's smooth sailing for however long I drive it. Until I turn it off again :/

Doesn't seem to have anything to do with temperature (12v mod comes to mind - although that's more an SC300 thing).

Any suggestions? I've been searching on the forums here for the past 4 hours - and everyone else's threads talk about a car that wont turn over at all (normally) - or ones like mine that are never resolved.

Last little nugget of info I can think of is, lights in the car dim lightly when I use turn signals, or window / moonroof motors once it's running - and that's been going on for 50k miles easily. Related?

So my SC brothers and sisters.... ideas?

Isn't the 12v mod only for SC300 engines?

I thought I read something about if it's done on the SC400 (which is what I have) the extra gas just gets re-routed back into the return line from over pressure or something?

If you've got a bit extra info - fill me in n___n

Double check your water temperature sensor that reports to the ECU.

If it's bad, or the connection bad, it has symptoms like what you have described...
