SC300 AC Lines, HIGH LOW?
I am currently still on R12 and I will be doing the R134 retrofit kit soon but need to locate the HIGH side. If I had to guess it would be the line(Schrader Valve) up front since it is easier to get too but I wanted to be certain before I fit the new valves on. For those who are familiar with this can you tell me where the HIGH side is?
"On a '92, the low port is on the compressor, the high port is in front of the radiator, sticking up through the plastic shroud. Get the angled adapter for the high port. The receiver/drier is by the driver's side headlight."
^^If you mean what is involved in retrofitting R12 to R134, here is the answer: It entails swapping new caps for the schrader valves high and low, draining the R12, and recharging the A/C with R134. I'm probably forgetting stuff since it's been so long since I did it. If you mean, what does the retrofitting kit contain: It contains the new valve caps, 3 cans of R134 refrigerant, the charging hose and gauge, and a couple other small details.

^^I'm pretty sure they are universal. I didn't use a specific model retrofit kit. BTW, you have to have the A/C professionally evacuated. All of the R12 needs to be gone. I didn't do that though, because in the trunk of my SC was, suprise suprise, an R12 A/C compressor, so there was absolutely zero traces of R12 freon inside it. Charged it last fall, still working perfectly right now.
You can find the kit at Wal-Mart actually, though, places like Auto Zone, Pep Boys, O-Reillys and ect should obtain a retrofitting R12 to R134 kit. Because everyone want's to protect the environment...right?

I bought mine from Oriellys for about $6. Similiar to the kit below but just the replacemet valves, my bro in law vacuumed the system out and refilled it with R134. Oreilly sells 2 kits, one is
universal for most vehicles while the other one is specifically for earleir GMs models.
