I plan on buying one, just wondering which members on here have the same clutch with no issues... Issues as in crank walk...

you are risking crank walk for sure as ive seen a couple here with the extreme.. esp if you are on a seasoned block as opposed to a newly built block .. if you are making that much trq , you need to move to a twin disk

im at 600 rwhp and just shy off 500 lbs trq and the act hd has no issue holding at this power level since oct 2010 and even i should be moving to a twin disk and will shortly

Hm... That's a good point. My block probably has a lot of miles on it. It's going to be mated with a 1jz. Twin disc is out of the question for me, I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a td for the r154.

I've been looking at south bend clutches as well.

I've been running the act extreme pp for two years now with 555ft/lbs torqe. No crankwalk no problems at all. I also use a chromoly flywheel with a southbend feramic disk. I drive the car every other day or so. I don't get this whole afriad of heavy pp thing. It holds the power with zero problems for me.

I hear more about crankwalk than I ever hear positives with ACT. Ill never run one. Go with a southbend redone stock plate. Quickgs4 runs this setup on his car... works amazing. North of 600 ft/lbs.

You guys are more than welcome to try it !

I have been running ACT for the past 5-6 years and i lost about 4 engines with that clutch .

I daily drive my car , so if you put it in your car and drive your car twice a week then ...

Pull your oil pan and i am almost sure you have the trust washers sitting in your oil pan..

@Preston you just started using Southbend , you used the act for how many miles and how many years?

I drive my car everyday , i just lost a block 2 weeks ago , the dowel pin on the crank pulley started diggin into the crank when i caught it.

I have used just about every single disc clutch their is for an R154 on my car or my friends..in the past 6-7years .
I used an old act pp i had in the garage for couple days till i get my new clutch back from SB and it cost me $2500.

You don't believe me , you wanna try it on your own BE my guess and good Luck!

Act will hold the power but it will **** your crank up been there , done that.

ive used The act extreme pp as stated above for atleast 2 years with atleast 10,000 miles or more on the PP, At the drag strip I finally blew the act cluth disk up, i then sent my act extreme PP to southbend where they rebuilt my act ex pp and also built me a 6 puck feramic disk. I've currently ran this setup for about 7 months or more.

I daily this clutch. Prob have 20k on it. Also dailied the f1 stage 3 which is the knock off version and it prob had 40k on it. Low power though about 400/350tq. No issues yet. I've seen heavy rps pressure plates crank walk **** in 20k first hand. Also, I have no neutral safety switch and don't clutch in til the car is watm

Im thinking about pulling my trans and switching the clutch out before I finish the build, Would hate to have this much time and money and go out and destroy the motor from a stupid clutch lol

I would run a stock 7mgte stock $85 pressure plate to just make 500whp before I ever put an act on my car...

My car would have been done weeks ago if it wasn't for this pos act clutch I put in my car.

And the clutch bypass is not gonna help you either.
