92 SC 400, Stock Radio will not turn on about 50% of the time. When it does work it works fine. All other electrical things in the car seem to work great Cannon plug also seems to be seated. Both radio fuses check good. Anyone have this problem or any ideas?

Plugs not seated on the rear of the head-unit properly. Have you pulled it out to check them?

nope I have not but when I took the console apart to paint and clean I am pretty sure I seated the plugs in tight till they clicked

Mine was acting like that then it died. I took it out and apart it had a melted capcitor in it that i never fixed.
92 sc300 about 230 k at the time. Not saying this is your problem just trying to help.

That does help and makes sense. Mine has 139k on it but ti is 21 years old.
