Default SC400 5 Speed Swap Questions

Hey guys heres my situation. I'm buying a w58 trans to do a manual swap on my sc but idk if its just too late right now or I'm just slow. The trans im buying comes with a 2j bellhousing because it is meant for an sc300. But is the 2j housing removable? Once I take that off could I just throw the 1UZ adapter plate on and bolt it up to the 1uz? I think they do or how else would people be able to put the w58 onto the 1uz without the bellhousing coming off since the w58 doesnt normally come with a 1uz

yea you have to un bolt the W58 bellhousing and install the adaptor and and u will have to do a little bit of grinding on the Auto bell housing due to the bolt heads that bolt he adapoter down then you have to drill 2 holes on the top of the bellhousing to run the clutch lines for the Quatermaster throwout bearing.

Ok cool the following is the ad for what I am looking at tomorrow. -

Hi I have a w58 with the tripod shifter along with bell housing and front drive shaft light weight flywheel and clutch to make your automatic Sc300 or 400 a 5 speed and yes it does have the bellhousing for a 2jz. Stage 2 clutch also does come with it

Since I am getting it for a steal of a price I will probably just sell the 2j bell housing and buy the adapter plate. I do not know what the trans is out of nor how used the clutch is. I read that the MKIV w58's do not match up properly for sc300s. is it true for 400's as well?

From what I know... The Mkiv trans doesn't work because the shifter is too far to the left. Either way you are going to have to modify the transmission tunnel to fit the shifter. The shifter placement in the 400 is different than in the 300 5 speed.

I had an mkiv w58 and it was perfect.. also the 2jz w58 bell housing won't sell for a fraction of the cost of the adapter kit. Don't forget you need flywheel, throwout bearing and some other goodies I'd just buy the entire kit from quantom auto
