Help big Oil leak SC400
My car tonight just started a huge oil leak from the left side Driver side. The low Oil light came on. So I topped it off and did a WOT run and smelled oil burning I opened the hood and there was a lot of smoke from the oil burning on the exhaust. As it was idling in my Driveway I was under looking at it and I can see it dripping about once every 15-20 secs and everything is covered in oil under the left side. I checked the valve covers and they look dry. So I am asking what could be leaking down there and is this ever happened to any one else and is it a known issue ??

158k on the car I dont know if the engine has been rebuilt or not.I will have to look under it tomorrow and will take video. Are there any oil lines, fittings etc that like to leak ? The steering box is soaked ,motor mount wet from what I can see now at night I will take video as I said tomorrow . Thanks for the reply

There's quite a number of parts that can cause oil leak. I'll give you a run down that you can check. There's really no other way around it but to physically see where it's coming from.
-power steering pump
-rack and pinion(inner tie rod inside the boots)
-power steering high pressure hose
-valve cover gaskets
-cam oil seal
-crank oil seal
-oil pressure switch
-oil pan gasket
I've experienced all on the list, lol.

Coming from a particular side it is likely the valve covers because if it were anything else it would come out the bottom in the middle. The cam seals are on either side, but they leak down inside the covers in a V pattern to the front main seal.
The only thing on the driver side is the actual oil filter itself which could be blowing back oil when it catches the fan if it has loosened up or developed a leak.
