Default Free Toyota Pre-OBD Datalogger Found!!

I have been searching until my eyes have bled regarding datalogging the Toyota 1989-1995 ECU.

I have finally found an open source, Russian built Toyota datalogger.

It logs Revs, TPS, coolant temp, o2 readings fuel trims, etc, etc!

It's called "Car Tester 8000" and it can be downloaded here:

http://www.microsofttranslator.com/b....com/myengine/

I hope this helps a lot of guys diagnose sensor problems, and tuning assistance.

Oh and, you are welcome!

On that page it tells you how to build a 2-wire COM cable, and where to pin into the DIAG Port to either under the hood or under the dash.

Here:

I am psyched about this! It will work really well with the TT ECU, and a distributor I can adjust!

Yes, a com-to-USB box will work. Just gotta build the cable like the diagram a few posts up.

You have to make sure you download the English version, all the way down at the bottom of that page!

i got it working, i haven't had much time to play with it but its pretty cool being able to interface with the stock ecu in some sort of way

how exactly are you using it to tune?

trusty ol COM port... I'll have to check this out. nice find

appears that the readonly data revs vs tps vs o2 may be useful in tuning?

It's funny. We are spolied because the 2jz is solid as a meteor.

We don't think about stuff like if the TPS is going all the way open to go into closed loop, or how much total timing advance we are getting at WOT. You know, the important stuff.

This is logging software, you hit record go out beat your car, and come back and see when you were knocking, how much timing there was before peak torque, etc, etc. All without taking your eyes off the road, endangering yourself, and other people.

So get out there, find out how much you guys are knocking, and verify all the sensors are working so we don't have any more 90-page threads talking about basic stuff!
