Help!! Dying 97 sc3
im going to start with the problem
my 97 sc300 is having a idle problem
cold or warm it revs up and down
my connector was broken to my iacv and after i changed it,
it stopped for 2 days then started again
i changed the iacv, tps, and cleaned out the Throttle body'
it started happening after i changed the spark plugs'
some air got into the brakes'
the brake are still good tho.
doesn't seem like they need bleeding
i redid all the egr lines,
and throttle body lines'
i changed out the throttle body gasket
i heard of the tps having to be adjusted but i dont know how to do that i tried and failed'
ive been looking for a solution to that problem for about two months and just about ready to take it in to lexus...but really dont have the money =/
im in san antonio tx
if someone can help plz do'

I have a 97 as well. Your tps does need to be adjusted if you didn't mark where it's suppose to go. You changed so many things its hard to figure out what's causing this revving up and down. You make sure all of your vacuum lines are connected in the right location. Especially the ones that go under the Intake manifold and magically appear on the other side. Lol. Are you getting any CEL? How does it rev up and down. Like constantly. How many rpm does it go up and down.

i been looking up how to adjust the tps and so far its a fail =/
i just made the hose under the throttle body tighter but same thing...
i took the batt off and put it back on to restart everything is there another way to restart everything so the computer can read it right?

Make sure to calibrate the TPS, adjust it to were the car idles best. Just remove the top screw and very slightly move it both directions. Do this till the car idles "perfectly", or close to that. You were correct in doing it while the car is idling BTW.If you disconnected the battery for a couple seconds, try it again, this time for a couple minutes, just to be safe. Then check out the MAF. Take a real good look under the hood for broken vacuum hoses. One last thing, if it's a small question, search it up on the internet. Everything is there.

I took mine to the dealer to adjust the tps cause I didn't wanna remove insulation to put a voltmeter to adjust it. You must have the tps connected and adjust it within a certain range for idle. The littlest change could throw the tps off. You gotta take care of one thing at a time. Too many variables to figure out where to diagnose your problem.
