Default CEL and TRAC Light On Codes (13,17,54)

Ok, so here is the scenario: I went to Texas for a couple of weeks and left the SC (92 SC400)parked in the garage. When I returned and started my car, it seemed to be running on 5 cylinders and was smoking like I had seafoamed the engine and you could smell the unburnt fuel.( It was running perfectly before I left)...

So I took in to my mechanic and he determined my ECU had **** the bed. I decided to get the timing belt replaced while it was there and also changed the plugs and wires. He contacted me today and said it is running smoothly, but now the CEL/TRAC light is on and threw a 13,17, and 54 code , which is a N E signal, cam position sensor, and knock sensor respectively, according to him.

I did a search on CL, but can't seem to get a definitive answer on what could cause all of these problems to exist simultaneously. I'm not concerned about the cost, but I would still like some feedback from the forum to help address the issues. TIA.

change the caps and rotors on the distributors. good chance that was your original problem as well.
Welcome to CL and please post maintenance issues in the performance and maintenance section.

when the rotor or cap contacts get very worn down, you may pick up a miss on a few cylinders, and the miss results in arcing inside the cap which completely throws off the cam and crank sensors. knock sensor will come on from the knock cause by the engine not reading those sensors correctly and trying to keep it running.

On the sc400 coilpacks going out is another common problem leaving you short half your cylinders, but since you have the other codes coming up, I would point the finger at a worn rotor or a worn cap. the wires hardly ever go bad but changing plugs is always a good idea when troubleshooting.
