Default 1UZ Vs 06 BMW M Roadster

Been reading the forums for months since getting my 95 SC400 last December. Joined a couple months ago, but this is my first post. Well today while coming home from work i pulled up to a light that is commonly raced, the right lane goes straight and left turns ahead so everyone always tries to overtake(which i rarely let happen an older guy pulls up besides me in a 06 BMW M Roadster, we chit chatted until it turns green and it was on, he got the jump on me(as do most cars do since 1000-2500rpm is so slow) I caught up before 2nd gear and took the lead and was pulling away at 45ish, then a woman(who was on the phone) in a Rx350 pulls out right in front of me, making me slam the brakes and come to a screeching stop. From what i read, the BMW is 330HP, not sure how the rest of the race would have turned out but lexi was doing good.

The sc400 is painfully slow for a v-8 and the bimmer has longer legs and most likely would have pulled even harder up top.

terribly slow, but being a toyota guy, and v8 lover it fits me perfect. Just need to drop the m90 and a few upgrades to wake her up.

There are many things you can do to wake the V8 terror. The best bang for the buck is a 100 shot of NOS, BFI, and full exhaust. These are simple things that can be done in a few days or less.

Nitrous has me worried, been thinking about it forever but don't want to blow anything, if anything it would be the tranny? I have this BFI installed http://www.ebay.com/itm/BFI-3-4-Inta...25b28e&vxp=mtr(couldn't get a clean fit when i tried my own, this was defiantly worth the $80 i paid, price raised a lot since then) I have a pair of Magnaflow 14236, and a 2.5" Magnaflow x-pipe waiting to be installed, also plan on removing the center sub cat, and the 2 resonators. going 2.5" piping only cause im SC'ing eventually.

He wasn't trying bro................. the M roadster is lighter, more powerful, and more responsive by a landslide. The HP/Torque per ton is intense compared to the SC. It's foolish to even consider trying an M Roadster.

Yes the 1uz takes a 100 shot without blinking an eye , I drove a friends sc400 on a 150 shot and it went low 13's with no other mods other than a fuel pump so n20 will wake up any 1uzfe

It's a shame the 1uzfe does not have aftermarket support like other platforms as I would love to build one however cost is the downfall of that dream so jz swap it is.

Before you make more power, work on getting what it does make to the ground.

Naturally I can't find the link right this second but there's a thread on which wire to cut to disable the soft shifts and slippage designed to prevent rear end squat. It really helps acceleration in 1st gear and any downshift situation.

I don't have traction control so the Nittos do a lot more talking than they did before the mod. I think it's how the car should have come from the factory - forget that marshmallow shifting!

if both engines failed catastrophically at the same time, the sc400 would roll a greater distance than the M.. thats about it.
