Brian Crower 1jz 264 camshaft results.
We installed BC 264 cams into a stock turbo jzz30 Soarer, equipped with tuneable HKS f-con management and an auto trans. The prior dyno test yielded 344hp at wheels at 18psi. The camshafts yielded a gain of 35hp at wheels, taking the total to 379hp. The cam wheels were then tweaked(2 degree retarded on exhaust, 2 degrees advanced on the inlet) to gain a further 6hp , so a total 385hp at the wheels. Boost remained at the same 18psi.
The install involve re-shimming on the exhaust side, as the clearances were out of spec.
The inlet side was fine, though.
There were good gains through the midrange, and the gap widened after 6000rpm, as the stock cams' power fell away. The owner says the bottom end response doesn't feel worse than before.

This is exaclty what I read on the supra forums when I conducted my research. I was led to believe the 50 rwhp gain was more realistic. The power gains you all received is close enough for me. I also have these in my 1JZ swap and love them past 6000 rpm's. I ended not changing any of the shims out, mine were all in spec's. I just cleaned and labeled mine, and then reinstalled. Thanks for posting the results.

When i say "stock turbo" i mean it has stock turbos. Ceramic exhaust wheeled CT12A turbos.
The 41hp gain is peak power gain, but after 6000rpm, when the factory cams are dropping off in power, the difference is more like 65hp at the rears.
Interestingly, the 2nd set of BC 264s that we had installed more recently did NOT require reshimming at all. This car is a manual trans car , equipped with a Masterpower T-60 turbo. Its "Pre camshaft dyno" yielded 355hp at the rears(16psi boost). Results to follow, mid Sept.

Very good info, I am in the market for some cams and I was told by someone, which is a motor builder, that the BC cams weren't good. I don't take anybody's word without evidence, so i was a bit skeptical, i think this proves it. just curious.
1. what is your application? street, road race, drift, drag?
2. how does the cams change the mid-range hp/tq?

I have to disagree. The BC cams are highly recommended in our JZ engines. Do more digging and you will know about we are talking about. They shine from midrange to top in my motor. Average gain is 50rwhp on a good tune. I would buy them again. They were well worth the $575 shipped to my door. My stage 2 required no other shims to be changed on either side. I reused my stock ones. The results are in signature with these specific cams. Good luck with your choice and you will not be let down with the BC cams, stage 2 or 3.
