Did you try disconnecting the maf sensor? Rule that out also. try to oull the efi fuse in the fuse bix under the hood. leave out for two minutes then put back in. will reset the computer.

I UN-plugged the EFI fuse and drove it. There was no thunking or surging that I remember, but I'll try again anyway.
I think, though, that it could be the TPS, since sound travels, it doesn't really mean it's the tranny that's causing all this surging crap. The Throttle position sensor is the "brains" behind the idle, because when I have the A/C on, it doesn't idle too badly, but if I have no A/C on, it runs like the 92 Ford Explorer I drove home (which was running on 4 cylinders FYI)
Help again???

Fixed.
TPS was bad, and throttle bolt was completely loose.
thanks all
(still a little surge but will be relieved once motor mounts are outta there, how do you check them?)
cheers
*EDIT* I had put the TPS in without calibrating it. You must set it to spec with an ohmmeter which would be 0:00, or infinity, which means an open circuit. Once I set the TPS to spec, it started bucking and surging LIKE CRAZY, that's when I thought it could be the o2 sensors, since they are the feedback of air vs fuel ratio via exhaust. Once I replaced bank 1 and 2 o2 sensors, bucking and surging went away. Keep that in mind...
