i just went for a drive after resetting the ecu..i do feel a difference in the throttle response.feels quicker off the line and smoother too.i have yet to check my mpg.i have a feeling it might have improved too coz it feels like it needs less to get there than before..im also planning to put on some magnaflow cats to get a lil back pressure as the previous owner has removed the everything.almost straight pipe with just the 2 factory mufflers.

If the previous owner already gutted the cats, then you might be able to get a discount from the taxidermist to have them stuffed and mounted. They will add weight to the car, but if you angle them right they will provide excellent downforce. There is also the option of using them as ballasts to lower the center of gravity if you are racing; you might need around 30-45 cats to achieve desired results, which might get a bit expensive if you are on a budget.

I've never heard of Magnaflow, I would recommend choosing from this list if you go aftermarket: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cat_breeds

There are tons of people running custom exhausts/No Cats on here, and i guarantee none of them get 10mpg city. I just dont see how cats could fix this problem..

I would search the other low mpg threads and starting checking out what everyone else did and see if you can spot a problem.

If your cats are plugged it will affect gas mileage. Removing it wont affect gas mileage.
