Is there an easier way to reset CEL and pull codes
...to read the engine codes once the Check Engine light comes on?
Also, is there no easier way to reset these codes than to disconnect the battery and turn on the headlights for 10 minutes? Disconnecting the battery is not only tedious, but time consuming given everything that has to be reprogrammed (ie. stereo, clock, windows, etc.).

Is there an easier way to get new members to post descriptive thread titles instead of me having to to edit them all?
probably not.
No, there is no easier way to pull the codes if you are odb1, you must read the all knowing blinking light, or get one of those expesive special readers.
and YES, there is an easier way to reset the ecu, its called pulling your efi fuse in the main fusebox.
I still find it easier to slip off the negative lead and that seems to do it right away for me.
probably not.

For those who are removing their battery terminals on a semi-regular basis, wouldn't it just be easier to install a simple battery cut-off switch? Something like this at Harbor Freight for only $9.99?

I use one of these, works well with battery relocations as well.
