I can't fill my gas tank on the SC300
I have a 2000 SC300 and cannot fill the tank. I can only get small amounts of gas into the tank before the gas pump shuts off. What do I check? It's been getting progressively worse. At first I just thought the wife was incompetent but if I can't fill it I know there's a problem. The car only has 72k miles on it and runs great.
I also need to know where I can buy a service manual.

The reason the pump shuts off is when the gasoline reaches a certain level a circuit gets completed and sends a signal to the pump to stop pumping. I'd say something is clogged up? When you over fill does gas come gushing out? Is your gas reading correct on the cluster? Try filling up with a funnel and see what happens.
SC tanks take about 20.6 gallons of gasoline. Try to use premium and if the capacity is less than that I recommend cleaning the tank.

No need to buy the service manual. Just call Lexus, they'll send you brand new one for free.
And also, that happened to me once before, the pump kept on shutting off with just $10 pumped in... Although it was a problem with the pump, cause I moved to another pump and it worked fine...

I have already tried several pumps to no avail. I also tried filling it slowly, sticking the nozzle in further and every variation I can think of. There is definitely something wrong, something clogged etc. I really need an answer that makes sense cause I cannot fill it with that all-important expensive gasoline.
As for the manual, what does "call Lexus" mean? Do you have a phone number or web contact?

Look up their number on their website. They should have a 1800 number on there. Not the dealer near you, it should be Lexus directly.
Tell you what, why don't you remove the false wall in the trunk so you can see your gas tank and let us know what you see. Or take a picof it to make it easier for everyone.

Here a link/process to remove the fuel gauge and look into your tank. Hope it's helpful?
