Default Tranny swap options? For sc400

So I did a lot of searching and couldn't find anything. A friend of mine has a 1uz in his 240 mated to a 350z tranny.

Seeing as the z trannys are the price of a w58 and can hold power/drift abuse why aren't they already swapped into our cars?

I realize they are a bit longer but anything can be modified if it's a close fit.

Suggestions are welcome if anyone has heard of this. Thanks guys!

I also recently considered doing a manual tranny swap, as I just started learning how to drive a manual lol.

Thanks. I've already checked out the QA kits. A local Florida drifter makes adapter plates for the 1uz to ka or 350z trannies in a Nissan chassis. I'm just going to try and make it work in the 400 chassis. The only hard part is making the shifter fitment work. Im going to try and use a ka tranny and see how it goes. I'll keep you guys posted!

Apparently both the R154 and W58 will work in our cars. The Z tranny is too long or something like that. Just did a bit of searching on here.

I have a 97 SC400 would the newer 98 and up auto tranny fit? I understand it's a 5spd auto.
