Default another "car wont start" thread.

hey guys, i really hate to be a pain but iv searched but haven't been very lucky, iv been having a very annoying problem with my soarer,as the winter got closer the car would have to crank more before it started. but now it doesn't even crank, so obviously it wont start. All the interior and exterior lights work 100% fine though. because all lights work i believe the battery should be fine.terminals on battery are also okay, and i have a pretty solid connection. Input would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time.

test out a different battery just in case. My gfs 08 civic started doing the same. Some days itll work other it wouldnt. Battery tested good at autozone, but kept dying. After replacing the battery we havent had this issue for 3 months now.

So does the starter motor spin or just do nothing? Define "cranking".

it doesn't do anything. when i said cranking i was referring to what they do when they are trying to get started, like you know how they click or whatever? thats what i was talking about.

This is happening to me too... Just changed starter And alternator and battery is still good. But while trying to start the car it'll sound like it will actually start but it won't at all. I'm stumped with the SC for the first time.

for you would it not try to turn over at all then once you replaced the starter it started to spin again?

My gfs car wouldnt crank either. It would click sometimes but not kick we got a higher cranking battery and it started right up no problem. Autozone even said the battery doesnt need to be charged. I really doubt youll have a bad connection to your starter unless youve messed with it, its usually pretty secure. If you can get a spare battery out of someone elses car just test it that way dont go buy one.

probably battery, you can try cleaning the connectors and the battery terminals to see if that works.

Hard start before:

Make certain all of your regular maintenance is up to date: fuel filter (frequently forgtten), plugs, wires, vacuum lines, PCV, clean the MAF and Thorttle Body, etc. Then check the timing with a timing light.

Won't crank now:
Take to Autozone for battery and alternator testing.
