Sc300 auto shifter wont go into park
Sc300 auto shifter wont go into park
Well guys im just starting to put the car back together and now the problem is that it dosnt wana go into park. It goes into everyother gear but park. When u try to go to park it feels like its being blocked and it wont go in.

And in this one it shows as far as it wiling to go. U can see that it dosnt make it.
Anyone know what this could posibly be?

Jack up the car, look under it. You should see the transmission and the shift linkage.
If I remember right I think there is a rubber boot on the bottom of the shifter that covers the shifter and linkage. The bottom of the shifter will have a small 10mm nut and bolt sittin in a slot at the end of the linkage.
Loosen it up a bit then shift the shifter into park. A friend helps here.
When its in park shift the transmissin into park using the linkage. I think it goes back afew clicks.
Now the bolt and linkage should be lined up. Tighten the bolt. Then check to make sure all gears work.
That should get u in the right place. Might need to move it afew times to get it just right. Hope this helps you. good luck
