Default Power Steering Hose replacement.....$64.99 from Autozone!!!

My power steering hose is leaking on my 1998 SC300 and it's leaking from the hose itself and not from the crush washers. We all know that over the years and high mileage on our SC's that this is a common leak point. We also know how DAMN expensive this part can be thru the stealership and aftermarket suppliers.....$500+ for a freaking hydraulic line...give me a break!!!. Someone on the forums mentioned AUTOZONE sells a powersteering hose made by Duralast for the 1997 Toyota Supra for $64.99 part #91862 that supposedly fits the SC300. That's a great price! Has anyone actually purchased this hose and used it on their SC? From the pic it appears to look correct. I know it is possible to take your old hose and have it rebuilt for about $75- $100(?) by a Hydraulic Hose rebuild shop but a new hose for $65....sounds DAMN good to me. Anyone tried this Duralast #91862 hose on their SC? How was the fit? I may just purchase the hose and make a comparison, I can always return it for my money back.

Further comparisons based on pics of the Toyota part and the Lexus part appear to be a bit different....so I do not know if this Toyota Supra part will actually work as a replacement....I still may purchase the Supra part and make a comparison and see for myself if it can work....I'll keep you posted..BTW, RockAuto also sells the Supra PS line ($63) but not the Lexus SC one. If anyone has tried the Supra part on their SC300 let us know!

MDSC, I assume your talking about the Supra TT PS line (from Autozone) on the SC300? If it works, then I am real interested in using it to replace the oem Lexus one, got a ton of crush washers....Hows the "steering feel" with the TT line? Any difference from the Lexus one?

MDSC, do you remember what you paid for the Supra TT PS line from Napa and who made it?

I might have to pic up the Supra TT power steering line. I didn't think about using one until I saw this thread.

Find a hydraulic shop in your town, somewhere that makes and fixes high pressure hoses. I had an ac line leaking on my STS and it costs about $280 from GM which is the only place to get it, the hose shop fixed it for $25.

I have the Driftmotion ps line it works really well. Only thing is you will have to block off the vacuum line that would of been connected to stock ps line or else you will have horrible vibration from the engine and low RPM at Idle.
