na-t engine bay pics please :)
just want to see a thread where people can post some na-t only engine bay pics..
i have quite a few ideas on what i want to do but would like to see some other peoples to see what might work and what wont. i tried looking on club na-t and supra forums for na-t engine bay thread as well as here and haven't seen any so people with clean na-t bays show em off..preferably with stock IM thanks |
Here is an old one of my first set up with the stock intake:

i understand they are pretty much the same setup for most but seeing if theres anything different etc as well and has anyone used a same side intercooler to make for easier/shorting piping route? |

^ thats exactly what i needed thank you very much :)
and ali sc3 could post more pics of his setup like without bumper that would be ideal :) |
wish i took some with the bumper off. the routing is so easy.
Unfortunately for everyone i have no time/space to take the whole bumper off these days so it will have to wait till next time its off which may be a while. its pretty self explanatory though how to run the piping. its a straight shot to both, and im actually going to change the cold pipe to go through a hole im going to make where the stock airbox used to be (like quickgs's above) that way it will be even easier and shorter. temp-wise I see the same range of temps on the ems with this vertical setup that i did with my large frontmount setup. the vertical setup is definately more responsive as there is less pressure drop and less piping. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_mpqMt41FXQM/S_...G0082small.jpg here you can see both pipes kinda. the top one curls around right to the lower fender area where it shoots right to the turbo. the bottom one goes over to the fender hole and to the throttle body. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_mpqMt41FXQM/S_...0/IMAG0080.jpg here you see the charge pipe curling around, and if you look close at the very left thats the pipe going to the fender and then to the throttle body. its actually covered by the lower part of my bumper completely. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_mpqMt41FXQM/S_...0/IMAG0079.jpg pic right after the engine overhaul, dont have any recent pics. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_mpqMt41FXQM/TB...0/IMAG0164.jpg intercooler i used go to ebaymotors search: same side intercooler 22x6x3 when i got it the first thing i did was cut that stupid flange off the bottom. |
Ali, what is your AEM saying as far as IATs with that intercooler?
|
Yes it you cut a the hole right the airbox location it will help with Int Temp atleast id did with mine , AEM says 76 after 1hr drive and going in boost a couple of times.
You can see my AIT sensor it right there when the air box used to be on the 2nd pipe after the TB. |
definitely a nice setup..
ive been looking and researching all day and because of my budget and research ive been doing..i honestly think imma start off with a supra smic..piping would still be very short..its definitely not noticeable which is big for me..i want to keep it clean and stock looking as possible for the time being..only going for 300whp so this should be more then efficient enough..plus its daily driven wont see boost often after the first month or so ;) and ali one thing..cause urs seems the highest on the thread thats actually a member but a side view from like the fender to show how high the piping actually is..and does it hit the hood at all?..my ultimate goal which i cant see happening after continuously looking under my hood hoping for room to appear is..use stock intake filter(just do the mod to it) and route the intake piping next/above it through the cut out thats already there for the smic..but i seriously doubt thats possible.. also the in/out on the stock smic is like 2.5" ? also thanks for all the pics..really appreciate it. |
Are you going Na-T or 1JZ?
I will not do SMIC on na-T setup no.. no..no |
