Default Weird W58 tranny 3rd gear experience

Ok I am running a Mk4 Supra NA W58 transmission in my car with a 6-puck clutch. At the beginning of this year I had a leak in my clutch line. One night we went out to a meet and went to a race spot. I forgot to check the clutch fluid level before I left and I didn't realize it was low.

So I was racing a few friends and at first I wouldn't be able to downshift into 2nd. And then it worked after. So after a while I kept shifting hard into all my gears and it was a little rough but they went in. The whole time I didn't think about the fluid being low.

Eventually I went from 2nd to 3rd really hard and after that I wouldn't go back into 3rd at all. As much as I tried it just felt like it was being block. It wouldn't grind or anything like that. It just wouldn't try to go in. I fixed the leaking line the next day and changed the fluid. It didn't change anything and there wasn't any metal shavings or teeth. So all this time I've been driving and racing without a 3rd gear.

Fast forward to last night. I came back from a car event and as I was pulling into my driveway, I noticed the car felt like I wasn't in 1st. As I put it in neutral I realized the shifter was in 3rd!!!!! I was confused. So I reversed back and tried to put it in 3rd again and it went in!!! So I drove around my neighborhood and I can go through all gears fine like nothing was wrong. No grind or anything. Everything felt smooth as ever.

I haven't driven it hard yet though. But I want to change the fluid again before I do. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or heard of something like this before? Apparently it was stuck or jammed.

I have no idea, but how many miles are on this tranny?

What kind of fluid is in the trans?

Mileage is unknown. It came with my car when I bought it. I put about 30k-35k miles on it though.

I've been using royal purple gear oil. When I change it, I will most likely use redline shockproof.

Yeah I did that after I fixed the leaking clutch line.

No it's actually working fine now. That's the weird part lol. Since the beginning of the year I haven't had 3rd gear and now it's back all of a sudden. I used to push on it real hard and it would never budge at all.
