SC300 2JZGTE swap - ECU problem 5k rpm cut off?
Just bought a 92' SC300 with a JDM GTE swap. Originally an automatic, now has an R154 manual I believe.
It is having a problem with rpm cuting off at around 5k rpm. I think it only does it at full throttle. I was told by the previous owner that it has an auto ecu (I assume for the aristo) and that it thinks that it is in nuetral at that rpm and full throttle and that is why it is cutting off the fuel/throttle. It only started after he had a shop switch ecu's (I think from a 6 speed ecu because it wouldn't allow the climate control to work) to the auto ecu.
I was told to contact Dr. Tweak because there are 2 wires that I need to mess with...but he hasn't responded.
Any ideas?? It really sucks not being able to rev this thing out!!
Thanks!

Not sure, since it's a 2jzgte, search on SF. I know that the same thing was happening with my sc300 with a 1jz and it was because of the plugs, it also could be bad coils. It's like a spuddering right?

I was told by the previous owner it started doing that right after the auto ecu swap, and the guy (dave at snap I think) that did the build and changed the ecu's out told him that was the cause of it . I just got the car and haven't had a chance to drive it too much, but I think it only happens at full throttle. It does it in nuetral too if it's floored, so I really think it is the ecu problem. It's not really a spuddering, it just cuts off, kind of like rev limiter.
But I will look into the plugs, and I should do that anyway so thanks! This is a great site, lots of good info
