BoostCreep

BoostCreep
Been having this issue after I put the slightly smaller turbo on, I like it, spools so fast that I think the WG can't dump enough air? Manuals shifting the car it holds boost at 10 where I set it for couple seconds but as the RPM's get higher the boost climbs as well. And putting it straight to the floor in auto mode the car screams and blasts up to like 15 so I just let off. Not fun. Only solutions I can see is bigger waste gate any suggestions?
Specs:
Stock motor/ head gasket
T70 turbo w 68a/r exhaust
44mm WG
Halmen MBC

Ya ive tried disconnecting it and cars way slower wastegate opens instantly and the boost still creeps up quick, so quick that ive spike to 15-16psi range the other night now im seeing white smoke after it comes down from a rev, it idles a little different but it spools way smoother. I take it i blew the head gasket a bit

does it feel like the starter is kicking back (it should sound a little violent if it is). usually a sign that the ignition is too advanced. what kind of management are you running? have you messed with the distributor lately and did you remember to reset the base timing after?

oh forgot he has vvti, if your turbo is spooling real hard you may need a bigger/better wastegate. I have no problems holding 9 psi with my xspower t61, I only have a 40mm hks style gate but it dumps pretty loud though.
Its not too efficient to run big turbos at low boost, you may want to consider a TT headgasket and running more boost or If you are running stock compression for a long time using a smaller turbo which will spool quicker.
