when i do the THREAD search. nothing with a definitive answer comes up for the temp fix on the 1jz/2jz..
that grounding thing on the body plug doesn't do shEEt!

the 330ohm is spotty. it reads to high or too low.

Grounding fix worked for me no problem. Are you sure you grounded the right wire? The brown/black wire on pin IK2?

i'll try it again. maybe im just blind. cause the 330ohm thing doesn't work well for me. and im the kind of guy that always looks at his intruments when driving. even if the car has no known problems. i always look.

i'll mess with it during christmas eve or day and see if i can get it sorted out.

i was going to attempt tapping the coolant temp sender whole larger to accept the stock GE sensor from the orginal 2jzge engine.
but i read elsewhere that that wasn't a fix. and had similar issues.

plus i couldn't find the tap for M16x1.25 its one of those Taps that no one stocks.

yea don't do that, that's not going to solve anything

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2106217-post1.html

this is what i used for my fix, i did mine a bit differently but i don't remember how. I'll dig up the wiring diagrams tomorrow and see how i grounded it, but i did to mine with the wire mentioned here

If I were in your shoes, I would just take the ge sensor and rig it into your 1jz harness, Put a cup of water in the microwave, heat it up to about 200 degrees, Walk it out to the car, and drop your sensor in the water and see if the gauge works. When I look at my Lexus wiring diagram the wire is direct from the cluster to the sending unit. If it works, order a tap Online.

I will try and cover this issue more in details if I run into the same problems on my 1JZ into the SC400. Follow the build in the signature..

That's not a bad idea. I have extra clusters. I can hook it up to a car battery and run a wire to the stock sensor on the stove in a pot of boiling water and see how that works
