Default Exhaust flow

I want to get a custom exhaust made and was wondering if a 3" dp into 2.5" duals would flow as well as a straight 3" single exit exhaust. Btw i will not be running any cats or resonators. I love the dual exhasut just dont want to restrict any air flow. Thanks!

It should be fine. Thats what I've had on mine for the last three years and I've been more than happy with it.

If your going dual I'd say go dual 3" you'll like the flow also with 3.5-4" tip. Bumper cutouts are kinda big.

I currently have 3" dp > 2.75" duals... im changing it to 3" full out. I say if need to do piping just go 3" all out. Its the knowing that you arent full 3" makes you feel your missing out on some HP. =P Plus my new exhaust are sooo sexy

What kind of mufflers are you considering?

If your mufflers are 3" inlets, then go with 3" piping all the way.

My mufflers are 2.5" inlets so I went with 3" from the downpipe back to where it splits at the Y-pipe and then 2.5" to the mufflers. All mandrel bent piping. No cats or resonators.

The 1jz and 2jz are both inline6 motors so it's not a true dual exhaust like a V motor. I've seen people make crazy power on both 2.5" and 3" y-pipes.

Well im still looking around. ITs cheaper to go 3" until the split on the y pipes. I was trying to save money, but i dont really want to restrict any exhaut gas flow. I want to go dual pipes with dual tip mufflers, no cat or resonators. Dont want to get harassed with two single 4.5" muffler outlets.

I have 3" to dual 3" (w/4" tips), with a resonator.
it sounds mean but its not super loud because of the resonator.
I like the sound of the bigger piping and you can afford to muffle it some, cause when you get on it its gonna roar anyways. even with the 4" tips i don't attract any unwanted attention.

i did 3" to 2.5" once before, but i like the new setup much better.
I wouldn't even mind 4" to dual 3"
