Default Na-t fitment issue

I started my Na-T project couple nights ago i ran into couples of issues but the last not the least is that the TB is rubbing on the Exhaust housing and i was wondering if anybody had the issue before this is what im using an
XS Power manifold
Billet 6765
VVTi Head
VVT Valve Covers
Non VVTi intake manifold.
Any input will be appreciated thanks.
I am using the VVTi head and some TT parts to go distributorless...

wow... looks like you have too big of a turbo. The fixes I can think of are.
1. FFIM Most likely the fastest but not the cheapest fix.
2. modding the exhaust manifold or changing it out for a different style. The negatives are that you might need to adjust for the changes. Piping for the intake, down pipe and misc things.
3. Change out turbos for something a bit smaller. Cough cough I have a masterpower t70 that should work and I will trade and even pay shipping both ways for the trade cough cough... J/K I did want to get the 6765 turbo though

Good luck.

get a GTE manifold and mate it to the stock lower GE runners..Lokar throttle cable, and a couple of tweaks and the problem is solved. there are a few gte intake manifolds(just the uppers) for sale over on SF.

man that must be a large turbo, couldn't tell from the pic you sent me.
could you shave a few inches off the front of the tb and use an angled coupler to get around the turbo? the front few inches of the throttle body have nothing in it. just grind it down and stop before you get to the idle air passage on the right side of it.
you still have that grinder right =) prolly gonna need a fresh disc

How big is the ar on the exhaust housing. If its 1.0 ar or larger than its gonna be tight. A cast manifold usually gives more clearance because the turbo sits lower. Other than that I've viewed builds where the TB was cut shorter and an elbow is welded on to it. Good luck. Please post pics.

i'm having similar problem as well and my turbo is only a 60-1 w/ a .58 a/r on the exhaust housing..i'm pretty sure it's b/c of the cheap turbo mani that i bought. the turbo is not rubbing but very close to rubbing. probably have to use some exhaust wraps on my piping.

Thanks for all the inputs
I wanna go FFIM once i get my car on the road because it's about $1900.00 the one that i want to buy.
The Exhaust manifold i really don't wanna touch it because it will be alot of trouble once i try to mess with it, i got ride off my 1JZ because of that.
You don't know how much i like this turbo lol, i originally bought the 6265 i was on B/O for 3 weeks and them i told them i wanted to upgrade to the 6765s then i recieved it 4 days later.

I don't like the TT manifold too much lol with the upper water neck on the same side lol you might think am weird haha, or maybe i should just try it and see how it's gonna look.

I have always wanted the Precision 67, so when i decided to do Na-t that was the first
Turbo i thought about.
Are you still coming? I wanna finish this car tonight or tomorrow i have been working on it since monday form 7pm till 2 in the morning and i leave for work at 5Am.
I measured the VVTI Y plenum and it's shorter than the non VVTi so i will be using the VVTI IM and TB.
I have the Y plenum so i will pick up on VVTi from SRT when i get off work i think that should fix my problem.

It's 81AR, i thought about the 96ar but it's too laggy for me and it's over kill i feel the same way about the V160.
I will get an elbow welded to the TB and then install the Turbo blanket.

Where did you buy your manifold from ? what brand is it? you should not have any fitment issues Bro.
Yes i was going to use some heat wrap but i want a klean engine bay lol.
This is why i hate ebay manifold.

Im coming to help out tomorrow. hopefully we can make alot of progress.

Check out what this guy did man
http://my.is/forums/f88/bigger-throttle-body-243248/

I never even thought of putting an aftermarket throttle body on the ge.
It looks like it would flow really well. may have to look into this more
