Exclamation MPG issues

I was just wondering if an oil piston ring leak would affect gas mileage...I have a slight oil leak in one piston and I only get about 12mpg. From what I've looked up I should get about 20mpg average since it's like 16 city and 22 highway. If the piston ring leak shouldn't account for the horrible mpg anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

If you are getting oil into a cylinder you will have a fouled plug in that cylinder. With a dead jug you are getting just about what I would expect.
