Cool BFI intake?

Hey all you Sc owners out there,I have a question.
I've been doing some research on the BFI mod, and i'm still not convinced it work's. Is a BFI really that great? Can I get some feedback from the ones that have experimented with this mod, im looking for some easy cheap mods to do to my sc400 while im out of a job, something to keep me busy...is a BFI worth it?
Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

It can't get any cheaper than DIY BFI. Some even say don't waste your $$$ on SRT kit. I haven't done the BFI mod just simply because I didn't want to cut/drill holes on my stock air box hehehehee.

Is it worth it? Yes. Definitely noticeable, nice rumble too. Best of all, it's free.

Would you rather spend money on an intake kit such as the SRT or similar set up and later find out that the DIY BFI will yield the same results?

Just do the "free" DIY first then if it does not work for you then spend the money on an intake kit.

I doubt that you did your homework but The BFI works!

why would you worry about stuff getting in there if your running a filter, even if your not running a filter i dont think anything to big would be able to go through all the cracks of the bumper and get stuck in your intake/throttle body...

Well ya, but I mean little things, like dust and sand and whatever road crap. The stuff a filter filters out. All that cant be good for your engine..
I thought the point of a BFI was to have large unobstructed holes for air to freely pass through..? No..?

i think that would go with any type of after market or modded factory intake though. more air means more of everything else to, but i see what your saying, i have bigger things to worry about as of now, but i guess thats a good place to be when you can be finicky about the air and debris that your filter see's

sueno2jz: very nice BFI...

scENFORCER: The point of BFI or an intake kit such as SRT is to let as much air pass through and still be able to filter all the road crap. Yes you can run without filter but do you really want to do that? This is why other companies make aftermarket filters like K&N..... Think supercharger and research how it works

It's worth it. Frees up some horsepower and gives a nice little rumble too; personally I've never had any trouble with junk getting through the filter. It cost me about 6 bucks...so its definitely worth it IMO.
