Default A/T shifter **** sakes while riding

I have a '95 SC/300, the A/T shifter **** is a little loose in park, and shakes/rattles back and forth when riding. Does anyone know how to tighten the shifter ****, or is this a tranny problem that has to go into the shop to correct..thanks.

from what I have read here on the forums, the shaking shifter seems to be a common problem. You can tighten the **** itself, but the entire lower shifter assembly is what seems to be the culprit 90% of the time. It nothing that needs to be taken to a mechanic to have fixed, its just an irritant.

I had the same problem, took the entire assembly apart, and tightened everything I could find with no result..the only thing that fixed the problem a little, was switching to a lighter shifter.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info, I'll try to tighten things down and see how that works.
