Default Alternator

whats the best why to install a alternator? i have heard that its better to remove the terminal off of the battery, then some other ppls said its not a good idea.... i need some help! btw my battery light keep turning on, but when i accelerate it goes away but then it comes back when the speed slows down or at a complete stop.... i even had the car on then remove one side terminal off of the battery to see if the car will still run with out the battery it would stop i need help

sounds like you need a new alternator, i just put a new one in over the weekend, disconect the battery, remove fan and serpentine belt, then the alternator is two bolts, it also has one ground nut and a connector in the back, it is pretty straight foward, just wear gloves because it might be a greasy mess

Never disconnect the battery with the car running. Put a DC volt meter on the battery and get a volt reading, should be between 13.6- 14.6 with a good fully charged battery.
